Hi! I’m Jonelle Lund RN BSN IBCLC

As a mother of 3 children, I have experienced just about every breastfeeding challenge there is (engorgement, damaged nipples, oral restrictions of baby, nipple shield use, mastitis, formula supplementation).

With my oldest, I sought help early on from a lactation consultant and she changed the trajectory for me.  I was ready to throw in the towel and she helped get my daughter latched deeper so that I didn’t experience toe-curling pain anymore.  She went on to breastfeed for 10 months.  I developed a passion for breastfeeding with her and advanced my career as a certified lactation counselor (CLC).

My second had no problem latching and had gained weight before leaving the hospital.

Shortly after my second child turned 1, I become an International Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

My third baby had not received the memo that mommy was a lactation consultant and destroyed my nipples due to a pinched nerve in his face from the way he was positioned in utero.

These personal challenges along with my experience as a registered nurse working in Pediatrics, NICU, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum, have made me passionate about meeting moms and babies right where they are.  It isn’t about what my goals are as a lactation consultant, but how I can help moms meet their goals.

I am passionate about babies with tethered oral issues and find myself finding as much information as I can about how best to help these babies. I have taken the IBCLC Masterclass course and use it as the guiding force in my work with dyads that are struggling with tethered oral tissues.

Breastfeeding shouldn’t be painful or overwhelming!  It should be the best way that you can both bond with your baby and provide the nutrition that is perfectly made for them!  Nor do I believe that breastfeeding should be done in isolation… women are meant to help other women breastfeed.

I hope that we can meet soon to create a peaceful, bonded, breastfeeding experience for you and your baby!
